Small Group Cooking Class in Valencia

Pamper your palate during this delicious cooking class and meal in Valencia, Spain, with our exclusive tour hosted by local Chef Jose in his home kitchen. A native Valencian with over ten years of culinary mastery honed in Michelin-starred restaurants across London and Valencia, Chef Jose is eager to expose the rich culinary traditions of his beloved hometown.

Master the art of balancing wine and fresh fruit as you concoct the perfect refreshment, a glass of tangy sangria. Pair your drink with a tantalizing pinxto like gilda, a delightful blend of briny olives, pickled peppers, and anchovies. Discover the methods of making a robust Valencian paella and a few appetizing tapas, like pan tumaca (grilled bread topped with delicious Iberico ham and tomatoes), pan con sardinas (grilled bread topped with flavorful smoked sardines), or coca dacsa with cream cheese.

Chef Jose proudly introduces the tapestry of flavors that come alive in his favorite ingredient, rice, brought to Valencia centuries ago by the Arabs. Become versed in crafting a classic Valencian paella, brimming with short-grain rice, chicken, and robust vegetables as well as tapas.

End your culinary experience on a sweet note, with a melt-in-your-mouth horchata de chufa mousse, a Valencian dessert made from tiger nuts and crowned with Valencian brioche.

Meet your host, Chef Jose, at 11 AM at the IVAM Museum, located in the heart of Valencia. As you walk a few minutes to his home, enjoy fascinating stories about the history of the city and the Turia River. This experience is far more than just a cooking class-it's a true gastronomic and cultural journey. From 11:10 AM to 2 PM, you'll join Chef Jose in preparing a traditional Valencian feast in his home, followed by a leisurely hour from 2 to 3 PM to savor the delicious dishes you've helped create. Blending food, culture, and fun, this immersive experience is a must for any culinary enthusiast visiting the vibrant port city of Valencia.
